Upskilling Door Supervisors Course has been accredited by the regulators of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is also part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Our Upskilling course is supported by the SIA and aimed at door supervisors who undertook their qualification prior to the QCF Door Supervision qualification who need to renew their licence. Courses are Available in Birmingham and Nottingham.
How long does the course take?
The course takes 2 days to complete from 9:30am to 3:30pm daily.
What does the Upskilling Course consist of?
The course consists of two units, Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry and Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors.
How is the qualification assessed?
Learners will be assessed on each unit, Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry which is assessed in two parts, a practical test and a written test set by the examination board and Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors which will be assessed by a multiple-choice examination.
Unit 1 – Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
Understand Physical Interventions and legal and professional implications of their use
Understand how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used
Be able to use non-pain related physical skills to protect yourself and others from assault
Unit 2 – Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors
Understand counter terrorism issues relevant to Door Supervisors
Know the role of the Door Supervisor when first aid situations occur in licensed premises
Know legislation and requirements regarding children and young people relevant to Door Supervisors
